For the next 24 hours (through 12:00 noon on May 23, 2013), we at Abba’s House and Ron Phillips Ministries are asking our friends to help make a difference in the lives of those in Oklahoma. We know from experience how much every dollar means in times like this, and how important it is for action to be swift and decisive. Through the boots-on-the-ground assistance of The Southern Baptist Convention, as well as much needed supply lines set up by Operation Compassion, Abba’s House is raising money for these two humanitarian organizations to help ease the suffering of those affected by this tragedy. It's time to do some spring cleaning and help our missions trip to the South Dakota Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. Clean out that closet and bring in casual clothes to send to the Pine Ridge Baptist Church Clothing Center. There is a specific need for children's clothes, but all casual adult sizes will be accepted, as well. Bins are available in Abba's House and Hope Building through May 12.

The Bible comes alive when you visit the places Jesus walked. Travel with Pastor Ron and Ronnie to Israel next January for a trip of a lifetime. If you're interested in going, please attend one of the meetings on April 14 or 21 immediately following the service in Guest Reception.

Men, you can become the champion God has created you to be! Beginning this Sunday, April 7, join Dr. Tod Zieger and Pastor Sammy Wilson for an all new Men's LifeGroup. The Champions Class will meet every Sunday at 9:15 in Guest Reception.

You've joined the family here at Abba's House; now what? Beginning April 14, learn more about everything Abba's House has to offer and how you can find a place to fit in during a 4 week introductory LifeGroup - Moving In. The class will meet the first month of every quarter in F-408 in the Faith Building.

Even though many of our local schools are on Spring Break, all of our Wednesday activities are in full swing this week! 6:33 and Awaken will be combined in Abba's House as we prepare our hearts for the Easter weekend.

On Sunday, March 24 we will host our first “Leading Your Child to Christ” class.  This will be an opportunity to help parents understand how they can help their children make a decision to follow Christ.  Topic of discussion include: “Is my child ready?”, God’s plan of salvation, making a commitment to follow Christ, celebrating their commitment and baptism.  You need to RSVP to Lea Martin at leam@abbahouse.com  We will meet at 1:30, allowing you enough time to get lunch and come back.

Please keep our team in your prayers as they travel to the Dominican Republic, March 18 – 22. Pray that they will have the favor of the Lord in reaching the lost of Cien Fuegos, Santiago in a mass area crusade lead by Pastor Ronnie Phillips, Jr. Pastor Ron will be also be ministering to area pastors to help them continue their work throughout the Dominican Republic Nation!

The next LifeGroup Teacher's Meeting is on Sunday, March 17. We have postponed it a week so you won't have to come early on time change Sunday. If you get a random phone tree about the February meeting, just smile and ignore it!

Awaken Student Ministries is hosting A NIGHT OF REVIVAL with Jeremy Austill. Jeremy is the District Youth Director for the Assemblies of God in the State of TN. It's time to refocus and put God first in the middle of your week. Titled after Matthew 6:33, our Wednesday night service begins at 6:33 p.m. and is led by Pastor Ronnie Phillips, Jr. This fall, Pastor Ronnie welcomes Pastor Ron as they team teach at 6:33.

This production of songs of faith and inspiration from Broadway will be performed on August 17 & 18 in the Awaken Center. There will be singing, dancing and acting for the whole family to enjoy! Childcare will be available for ages 6 weeks through 4 years of age.

The Healing Rooms at Abba's House is celebrating 6 years of healing. It is open every Monday from 5-8pm at entrance #3. Jesus doesn’t ask us to pray for the sick, He tells us to heal the sick. Everyone is invited to come and experience the atmosphere of righteousness, peace and joy of the Holy Spirit at The Healing Rooms of Abba's House.

May 3 is the National Day of Prayer. There are two opportunities for you to join with fellow believers to spend an hour in prayer that day. If you are working downtown or live in the North Georgia area, we invite you to the observance at the Hamilton County Courthouse at noon. Abby Brown will be leading in a night of worship as she records her first live CD on Wednesday, April 11 at 6:30pm in Abba's House. The CD will be released at the FONW Students conference in July. Come and be part of this awesome worship experience.

VELOCITY is a new LifeGroup for 22-30 young adults, college grad, post grad, divorced, or professionals. It will begin March 4 in room F-408. Come and find out what it’s all about! Velocity is a community where 21- 30 ish young adults can seek the Lord, pursue His will for their lives, develop strong community relationships, and grow into effective leaders of the church.

A new deaf ministry has begun at Abba's House. Every Sunday morning and Wednesday night, sign language interpretation is available for the deaf on the left side of the auditorium.

Coming to Abba’s House on Sunday, February 19 is internationally known Gospel recording artist, Alvin Slaughter. Alvin will sing at Abba’s House in the morning and then return in the evening service for a one-of-a-kind, unforgettable worship experience. The Zadok Ministries choir will accompany Alvin for an incredible night of worship.

It's not too late to be part of the choir for the Sacred Night of Music on April 1. If you like classical music and singing parts, this experience is for you! Auditions have been extended until Wednesday, February 8. Please email carolinem@abbashouse.com to set up your audition. You don't have to be in the choir or even a member of Abba's House to participate. You do have to be able to read music and sing a part. Weekly rehearsals will be on Sundays from 3:30-5:30 beginning February 12, except for the weeks of 2/19 and 3/4.

Abba’s House will host Marriage On The Rock, a seminar simulcast led by Jimmy & Karen Evans of Dallas-based ministry MarriageToday. Admission to the two-day event is free. The seminar takes place over two sessions: Friday, February 17 (6:30–9:30 PM) and Saturday, February 18 (9 AM–noon).

Project Esther will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012. To get involved in this hands-on ministry, call the church office at (423)877-6462 or sign up under the Women's Ministry section. Training will be held Wednesday, February 15 at 5:30 pm in The Vineyard.

Anyone who is interested in participating in the community choir for the Sacred Night of Music is invited to audition on Monday, January 30 at 6:30pm in the Abba’s House Choir Room. The Choir Room is located on the 3rd floor of the main Abba’s House building. Membership at Abba’s House is not required to audition, but reading music and singing your part accurately are absolute requirements.

Prepare for the 30 Day Challenge by examining yourself and letting God show you what you need to deal with. Examine your thoughts, words, actions and motives as we get ready to put God First.

THANKFUL FOR 60 YEARS - A Night of Remembrance and Thanksgiving will be on Wednesday, November 16. We'll begin by having a family Thanksgiving meal at The Dinner Table. Then at 6:33, we'll have a combined adult/student service in Abba's House as we look toward our 60th anniversary celebration on Sunday. Fresh Oil New Wine Worship is almost here! Our first worship conference begins this Friday night at 6:30 in the Awaken Worship Center. We're kicking off 60 Days of Prayer leading up to our 60th Anniversary Celebration on November 20. Every Wednesday night in 6:33, we'll pray together as a family as we celebrate all God has done in the last 60 years. Sunday night at 6, Abba’s House will show the film, “The Third Jihad” in the AH auditorium. Due to the nature of the movie, children up to 5th grade will see a movie in the Kids Catalyst room (E-210) and preschoolers will go to their regular nursery rooms.

The Chattanooga Firefighters are doing a food drive for the Chattanooga Food Bank this Sunday. Containers will be in the AH atrium. Please bring a non-perishable food item with you to church.

We sing it sometimes in church. "Something's moving, something's changing…" As God moves in our church, we are listening to hear and obey Him, even if it means doing things a little different. As we get ready to resume activities for the school year, we're going to move and change some things around. Our staff has met and prayed together to come up with a schedule that we hope will help you recover some family time in this busy world.

It's an event so big we can hardly contain it in one weekend. It's the BIG Event, our summer campmeeting here at Abba's House. We'll have a ministry conference, golf tournament and live and silent auction. Look under the RPM section to learn more.

Awaken will combine with 6:33 as we prepare for the 1,000 + students who are coming in for Fresh Oil New Wine Students. We'll be having taco salad at The Dinner Table, so come early and eat with us! Due to the fact that we reached capacity in the Awaken Worship Center, Fresh Oil New Wine Students has been moved to the main Abba's House auditorium and registration has been reopened. The cost is $20 per student.

Abba’s House is inviting all area fire fighters, police officers and first responders to a special service on Sunday, July 3 at 10:30am. Senior Pastor Ron Phillips will bring a special message called “Turnaround for America,” and the choir and orchestra will present patriotic music. Every officer who attends will receive a complimentary, signed copy of Pastor Ron’s book on angels, “Our Invisible Allies.” “I want each of them to have a copy of this book,” explains Pastor Phillips, “because they are like guardian angels to our community – watching out for us and keeping us safe.”.....

Abba’s House has made a substantial donation to Operation Compassion to help with disaster relief efforts following yesterday’s deadly tornados. “Operation Compassion already has teams on the ground in Ringgold, Trenton, Tuscaloosa, Chattanooga and Cleveland to bring help and relief goods to those who were hardest hit,” commented Pastor Ron Phillips. “By donating, we have an immediate impact.” All of the assets Operation Compassion has at its disposal will be brought to bear on this disaster, including 4 shower trailers, 3 mobile cooking units capable of cooking 3,000 meals each day and dry vans capable of moving product. Abba’s House has volunteers mobilizing to help their fellow church members, from cutting trees to providing housing and food. We pray for those who have suffered loss.

Pastor Ron is preaching a new series on "The Cross" all month leading up to Easter. While the cross of Christ is a brutal, bloody topic, it is important for us to understand the meaning and depth of love and forgiven that was given to us through the Cross. Plan to join us each Sunday for "The Cross."

On Sunday, April 10, Kelle Chapin, wife of slain officer Tim Chapin, made a statement of thanks to the church and community for the love and support shown to her family during this difficult time.

A walking funeral procession honoring slain Chattanooga Police Sgt. Tim Chapin will proceed from Abba’s House to Hamilton Memorial Gardens on Highway 153. Highway 153 will be closed to all traffic not in the procession from 11 a.m. until all services are complete. Please avoid the area if at all possible, police said.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 6 from 12-3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. in the Abba’s House main auditorium. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 7 at 1 p.m., also in the AH main auditorium.

Beginning next Wednesday, April 13. you can join your AH family at The Dinner Table, from 4:30-6:00 pm each Wednesday night in the Faith Building. It's a great time to relax, fellowship and refuel from a busy day. It’s also a time to refocus and prepare for worship.

Rick Stanley, who is well known for his years spent at Graceland with Elvis, will be a special guest speaker for the morning and evening services at Abba’s House in Hixson on Father's Day, June 21.

On Sunday, May 10 at 6:00p.m., a former University of Alabama running back will be a special guest speaker at Abba’s House during the evening worship service. (more)

The public is invited to attend the Fresh Oil New Wine Conference to be held March 8-12 at Abba’s House in Hixson. This year’s theme is “Rain Without End.” “It is hard to believe this is the 12th Fresh Oil New Wine. But year after year, people come back for a week of refreshing and recharging,” commented Dr. Ron Phillips, Senior Pastor. This year’s theme, ‘Rain Without End,’ is full of hope. We need hope in America right now.”

On February 28, 2009 from 9am to 2pm, Project Esther will be held at Abba’s House in Hixson, helping women who are ready for a way out of their difficult situation by providing a day of encouragement, training, hope, and help. “Two times every year, we have the privilege of serving some of the women and children in our city who are victims of domestic abuse,” explained Paulette Phillips, Pastor of Adult Ministries at Abba’s House. “The children enjoy a day of fun and play, while their mothers are treated to a day at the spa receiving a makeover which includes a hair cut.”

Over the next seven weeks, Abba’s House is making a concerted effort to help rebuild and repair broken families. Beginning January 18 at 10:30 a.m., Senior Pastor Ron Phillips will bring a series of messages on “Rebuilding Broken Families.”

The Hixson Super Bi-Lo, along with Bethel staff and volunteers from the community and joined by efforts of the Rivermont Bi-Lo Store, raised $14,148 for the children at Bethel Bible Village. Scores of volunteers from local churches pitched in to help with this six-week long fund drive back in April, May and June of this year.

We all need time to refocus and put God first in the middle of the week. Titled after Matthew 6:33, this new Wednesday night service at Abba’s House will begin at 6:33 p.m. and will be lead by Pastor Ronnie Phillips, Jr.

Abba’s House in Hixson is holding the annual Traditions Christmas Eve Communion service on December 24 at 5:00 p.m. Featuring traditional Christmas carols, a brief devotion by Pastor Ron Phillips and communion, this service is a great way to begin your Christmas Eve celebrations.

In the tradition of "The Book," Abba's House returns to a dramatic Christmas presentation this year with an original stage production. Last year the church began the tradition of the Living Christmas Tree. This year we expand on it with a new drama, "Home for Christmas."

Abba’s House (Central Baptist Church) is holding it’s first Homecoming to celebrate the 57th anniversary of the church. Founded in 1951, the church was started after fire destroyed Hixson First Baptist. According to records kept by Elsie Welch, one of the charter members, the founders were strongly convicted of the need to start a centrally located church in the heart of the growing community of Hixson.

Abba’s House is holding a Solemn Assembly on Sunday, November 2 at 6:00 p.m. The idea for a Solemn Assembly comes from Joel 2:15-17, “Blow the trumpet in Zion; sanctify a fast; call a solemn assembly; gather the people. Sanctify the congregation; assemble the aged; gather the children, even infants at the breast. Let the bridegroom leave his room, and the bride her canopy. Between the vestibule and the altar let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep. Let them say, "Spare your people, O Lord…”

The Children’s Ministry of Abba’s House is holding the annual “Trunk or Treat” celebration on Friday, October 31 from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. This safe alternative to traditional door-to-door trick or treating offers something for the whole family to enjoy. Of course, there will be lots of decorated cars throughout the parking lot where kids can collect some sweet treats.

Senior Pastor Ron Phillips today announced that Abba’s House will develop a new Senior living community on its campus at 5208 Hixson Pike.

The second annual All American Night at Abba’s House promises to delight and challenge all who attend, June 27-29, 2008, at 6:30 nightly at Abba’s House. This year’s presentation, “It’s Time To Stand,” will take a somewhat different turn from previous year’s programs. “It’s Time To Stand” is a call for the church to stand in unity, prayer, and integrity for the healing of America.

Jonathan Falwell, son of Dr. Jerry Falwell, will be speaking at Abba’s House in Hixson on Sunday, May 18 at 6:00 p.m.

On Sunday, April 20, 2008, the membership of Abba’s House will show up for church ready to hit the streets as participants in the first ever Mission: Reach Out. From children to seniors, they will head out into the community armed with the supplies necessary to meet 100 needs.

The annual Fresh Oil New Wine conference will be held at Abba's House, March 3-6, 2008. Speakers include Ron Phillips, Tommy Bates, Perry Stone, John Kilpatrick and Ray Hughes of Selah Ministries.
