June 14-18, 2021
This is the Greatest Show!
Abba’s House is offering a unique and safe (see note below about COVID safety procedures) opportunity for children grades 5-12 (completed) to experience the arts in a musical theatre camp. Join us for the fun as we hone our acting skills, move our feet to the beat and sing our way to the stage. You do not have to be a member of Abba's House to participate, but space is limited.
The Summer Musical Theatre Camp is June 14-18. The culmination of this camp will be the presentation of “The Greatest Show – A Musical Revue" by the students on June 18 at 7pm in the Central Chapel (Building C). Our fun-filled days will encourage growth in your student’s confidence and will foster a lifelong love of the arts.
Cost: $99 per student, which includes camp fees, a camp t-shirt and 4 tickets to the show.
Time: 9:00am - 4:00pm
Drop-off begins at 8:30am.
Lunch is not provided, so students should bring lunch with them.
You may pay the entire amount when you register or pay 50% now (non-refundable) and the remaining 50% by June 6. After June 6, a $25 late registration fee will be added.
Multi-child discounts are available. There is a family discount of $10 for each additional sibling. Please email Samantha Steinmann for the multi-child discount code to enter during registration.
Auditions will be held Sunday, April 25 at 2pm. In order for your child to audition, you must register and pay your 50% deposit before April 25. All musical numbers will be chosen and locked in at that time so it is critical that any participants wanting to have a featured role in these numbers be at the audition. Please note: All campers will be in the musical ensemble or a part of the production, but not all are guaranteed a solo or duet.
Musical Theater Camp is limited to 50 participants, so sign up and make your 50% non-refundable deposit while space is available. Participation is first come, first serve. After 50 people are registered, a waiting list will be created, also on a first come, first serve basis. Due to contractual stipulations, no performers may be a member of any professional unions.
What is a Music Revue?
A revue is a type of multi-act popular theatrical entertainment that combines music, dance, and sketches. Similar to the related sub forms of operetta and musical theatre, the revue art form brings together music, dance, and sketches to create a compelling show. In plain terms- this isn’t an existing show. It’s a combination of the best of many different shows.
The Greatest Show - A Musical Revue will bring together some classic songs we all know and love like “Defying Gravity” but also more modern-day songs from “The Greatest Showman”. Some songs or numbers will be chosen based on the participants who audition and what we feel will best suit their vocal, acting, and dance abilities. This is why our April 25 audition deadline is so critical. All parts of this musical revue will be locked in after that date and will not be able to be changed.
We look forward to working with your young person, growing their abilities in the Fine Arts, having a wonderful time learning about the talents and abilities the Lord has given us, and... (of course!) having fun!
Please note – if you are chosen to be part of our choreographed numbers, weekly rehearsals for those songs will start on a date TBD at 6:30pm in the Central Chapel and continue every week leading up to camp. Dance numbers as well as rehearsal dates will be confirmed at the time of auditions.
- Daily temperature checks as campers arrive.
- Sanitizing stations will be available in all areas.
- Social distancing in rehearsal rooms and main common areas.
- Masks will need to be worn while entering and exiting common areas.
