Many of you have been wondering what the Hamilton County mask mandate means for us at Abba’s House. The health and safety of all our community is very important to us, so we are following the guidelines and asking you to wear masks in the building. Whether you’re in LifeGroup, in the hallways or in the service, everyone needs to wear a mask. The only exceptions are the people on stage who are socially distanced, and those who fall into the health exemptions outlined in the Health Department’s Directive.
Remember that even with masks, we’re still not hugging or shaking hands, we’re still social distancing and we’re still following the one-way aisles and doors. If you are not feeling well, please stay home and be part of our online campus. If you or anyone in your household is exposed to COVID-19, please self-quarantine for 14 days and confirm negative test results before returning to our Hixson campus.
If you attend a service and then later test positive for coronavirus, please email Denise Craig right away or call the church at 877-6462, so we can take proper sanitizing measures and notify others you may have come in contact with.
Our Staff
We’re not asking you to do anything our staff is not doing. We’re following these guidelines too. If any staff has cold symptoms, such as cough, sneezing, fever, or just feel poorly, they are taking sick leave or working from home.
If they have a positive COVID-19 diagnosis, they will notify Pastor Denise and isolate at home, away from others. They will return to work only after full recovery, or three days fever-free, or 10 days since symptoms first appeared, whichever is longer. They may return to work with a negative test result or a doctor’s note.
If a staff member has been in close contact with someone infected by COVID-19, they will work from home.
While the mask directive is in place in Hamilton County, our staff will have face coverings accessible in case someone comes into their private workspace or they walk into common spaces where they are likely to come in contact with others.
What can we all do?
Wash your hands after using the toilet, before eating and if you cough or sneeze into your hands. Please wash them for at least 20-seconds. You can also use hand sanitizer.
Cough and sneeze into a tissue, then throw it away. If a tissue is not available, cough into your elbow.
Avoid touching your face, particularly your eyes, nose and mouth with your hands to prevent getting infected.
Worship and Gathering Protocols
You will practice social distancing, staying 6 feet away from those who are not part of your household.
You will not hug or shake hands, but instead will smile and wave.
When a mask directive is in place in Hamilton County, you will wear a face covering, unless you are socially distanced on the stage or are otherwise personally exempt.
You will follow signage regarding one-way aisles, entrances and exits.
If you or anyone in your household is exposed to COVID-19, please self-quarantine for 14 days and confirm negative test results before returning to the Hixson Campus.
If you attend a service and then later test positive for coronavirus, please email Denise Craig right away or call the church (423-877-6462), so we can take proper sanitizing measures and notify others with whom you may have come in contact.
In order to return to campus safely after testing positive and being asymptomatic, you must be symptom-free for at least 10 days and have a negative test result.
If you display symptoms, you must be fever-free without medication for 3 full days and have a negative test result before returning to the Hixson campus.
If you don’t feel well, participate in the online campus to protect others.
