Missions at Abba's House

Living Free +Fully Alive isn't something we just live here at church. Whether it's feeding kids in the Dominican Republic or ministering to those incarcerated in a local jail, we want to help others find love, freedom and purpose no matter where they are. That's why we use part of your generous donations to do local and global missions.

Upcoming Mission Trip to Bolivia

We will have a small team of youth leaders traveling to Bolivia this summer to do ministry with Andrea Baker, one of our missionaries and her organization, Project Suma. We are also exploring ministry opportunities for our youth group to go next summer.

You can help with the expenses of our team by making a donation to the trip.

Global Missions

To help us stay connected with missions we support globally, we have Champions assigned to each mission outreach. These Champions are people who have a God-given passion for a specific mission field and serve as a liaison between Abba’s House and that mission field.  Learn more about our Champions and the ministries they represent.

Thailand: Stephen & Angela Scarbrough - Champion Krystal Scarbrough

Stephen and Angela Scarbrough are currently serving as missionary Bible teachers in Lakeside, Montana.  Their desire is to be trained as Bible teachers over the next two years and equip young believers in how to inductively study God’s Word - observing the text, interpreting it with the author and original readers in mind, and applying the text to their lives.  After two years, they plan to return to Thailand and serve in this capacity. Angela has a heart to see Thai believers and missionaries grow in their understanding, love, and application of God’s Word.  Stephen has a heart to see those who have never heard God’s story to be able to hear it in their heart language and come to know Jesus.

Guatemala: LynnAnn Murphy - Champion Samantha Steinmann

Nestled in the Cuchumatanes Mountains of northwestern Guatemala, Huehuetenango has been home to LynnAnn and her daughter, Jessie, since June of 2010. Her primary passion is teaching the Bible to the Mam Indians, but after seeing the extreme physical need of the indigenous population, God led her to also start the Loving InDeed program in August 2014. Through LI, various widows and their children–over 160 people in total–receive food and housing assistance, training, free medical care, and spiritual support every week.  Right now they use a local church building, but are in the process of building their own ministry center out of which to run the program.  They will also be putting in a clinic run by local volunteer doctors and a workshop for teen boys to learn carpentry skills.  In January of 2016, the Loving In Deed scholarship program began to assist in providing an education to students who would otherwise not have the opportunity to study past the 6th grade.  This year more than 15 students have received this assistance.

Myanmar: Adopted Rakhine People Group - Champion: Josh Steinmann

We have adopted the Rakhine people of Myanmar as our Unreached People Group (UPG) in partnership with AIMS (Acceleration in Mission Strategies).  The Rakhine are an ethnic people group of 2.6 million people who are mostly Buddhist by religion.  They are only 0.1% Christian and are a frontier UPG since so few have heard the gospel.  We are working with AIMS to equip and send two indigenous missionaries to the Rakhine to share the gospel.  Please pray that God will equip these men and raise up more missionaries to go to the Rakhine.  You can find out more about the Rakhine by clicking here.

Middle East - Champion: Josh Steinmann

Remy and Lane Storm have a heart to cultivate discipleship and community and to plant churches among the unreached. They desire to make Jesus known in the earth and to bring rescue, hope, and restoration to the nations. They are serving alongside a local church in the Middle East and are currently focusing on learning the language and the culture of the people so that they can better connect, love, encourage, and share the gospel. Please pray with Remy and Lane for grace as they learn a new and difficult language and culture. And praise God, the church where they serve has outgrown their meeting space and they are having to rent a reception space each week to accommodate everyone coming to worship and seek the Lord! Pray that God would reveal the perfect new building and provide the finances needed to purchase it.
